The captain hook ad is somewhat of a scare tactic, providing a scary scenario with a scary childhood movie character. The idea is that if you don't wash your hands you'll end up with a hook hand and associated with an evil villain.
From a design perspective, I used different brushes to capture elements like his hair, hat feather, and puffy shirt. I wanted to emphasize the hook, which also doubles as a question mark.
Our group had several ideas, including a hand running away from germs, the cartoon integration (captain hook), or hand puppets. I leaned more toward scare tactic ads.
